Magnetic MRO and EAVA's aircraft maintenance technician programme wins the European Commission quality award
On the 13th of November, AS Magnetic MRO in cooperation with the Estonian Aviation Academy was chosen as the laureate of the European Vocational Skills Week 2020 award for training at work.
Each year, the European Vocational Skills week recognises the best examples of European Vocational Education Training (VET) that provide and promote high quality VET. This year, the best examples were presented in five categories. Magnetic MRO and the Estonian Aviation Academy (EAVA) won the "Companies and learners award "category, which aims to draw attention to practices that promote lifelong learning within companies.
"I am beyond glad that the cooperation between Magnetic MRO and EAVA is seen and recognised so highly at an European level,"
said Ene Krinpus, Head of HR at Magnetic MRO, who was taken by surprise by the victory. "This award is a recognition not only for Magnetic MRO or the academy, but for the entire Estonian state," said Krinpus, adding: "Putting Estonian aviation education so firmly on the map of Europe is a great achievement in itself!". According to Krinpus, the victory confirmed that the right thing is being done: "We will continue to popularise aviation in cooperation with the Estonian Aviation Academy, despite today's difficult situation in the aviation sector."
EAVA's aircraft maintenance programme coordinator Eva Lastik said: "In the case of work-based learning, we have seen that the learners are enormously motivated," she added that the motivation is definitely due to the very good partners who offer the best opportunities for learners. Lastik said that the recognition received is a great honor: "We have continuously developed the award-winning study program together with companies, and this recognition confirms that our work is being noticed and we are moving in the right direction."
In the workplace-based form of training, you can study to be an aircraft maintenance technician. In 2019, the curriculum has also received the SA Innove quality mark.
