Objective/outcome: to analyse and develop business models that enable the implementation of smart and sustainable energy solutions combined with innovative technological solutions in Estonian regional aviation, including at the airports of Tartu, Pärnu, Kuressaare, and Kärdla, as well as in regional air connections. The focus areas include renewable energy, electric- and hydrogen-based infrastructure, sustainable ground handling of aircraft, alternative fuels (e.g. SAF – Sustainable Aviation Fuel), and digitalised energy systems. The study focuses on increasing energy efficiency, the socio-economic impact of the green transition, the adoption of new technologies, and achieving climate neutrality in regional aviation.
