At the event 36 teams competed for first place with self-made aircrafts and more than 15,000 spectators came to see their awesome aerial flights. Three teams were representing the academy. Two teams, Ikarus and Kiluvõileib, we put togther in cooperation with MyHits Radio. Third team RWY08 consisted of only our own students. The teams were judged in three categories: aircraft design, pre-flight show and flight distance. Karl-Eerik Unt, head of Department of Aeronautical Engineering, and alumnus and pilot Annika Ruusmäe also gave points in the jury.
Our teams performed successfully and gave a good show. Team Kiluvõileib (Triin Pihlapson, Robert Nemsitsveridze, Rico Hõrak, Kristjan Hinno) received very high points for the design of the aircraft and their final place was 5th. Representative of MyHits Radio Kristina Suuroja was the one to take the flight with the aircraft.
Team Ikarus (Matthias Soots, Andy Pevgonen, Crismar Liukonen, Karel Soome) were tied for 12th place. Representative of MyHits Radio Jüri Pootsmann made it safely to water.
Team RWY08 (Dannar Pärtel, Kaur Karp, Jürgen Kõllo, Keity Kannel) came in 34th place.
The aircrafts of all teams survived the aerial flight and remained in one piece.
